This is an entry in our Disneyland 101 Glossary: Disneyland Resort definitions in under 101 words, from Mouse Brief.

Opening in 2001, Disney California Adventure Park became the second theme park at Disneyland Resort. It is located directly across the Esplanade from Disneyland Park. Originally themed to the state of California, Disney California Adventure Park received a major overhaul from 2007 to 2012; the park kept its name but underwent some drastic changes. It is now comprised of Avengers Campus, Buena Vista Street, Cars Land, Grizzly Peak, Hollywood Land, Paradise Gardens Park, Pixar Pier and San Fransokyo Square. You may enter the park using a one park ticket or a park hopper ticket.
