Walter Elias Disney is a founder of Disneyland. Born in Chicago, Illinois in 1901, he would make his way to California in 1923, where he began making short films with his brother, Roy O. Disney. These films would grow in popularity, and many fans wished to enter the worlds created by Disney animation. In 1955, the brothers opened the first Disney theme park, Disneyland, which would grow into the immensely popular Disneyland Resort of today. Walt Disney’s influence can be felt throughout the park he created, and many depictions of and tributes to him can be seen throughout Disneyland Resort.
