runDisney offers a series of virtual and in-person running events for people of varying ability levels. The events take place throughout the year, and many of them take place within Disney’s theme parks. At the time of this writing, runDisney events at Disneyland Resort include the Disneyland Half Marathon on a winter weekend and Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon in the early fall. Registration links as well as training programs and trip-planning resources are available on the runDisney website. Many guests plan theme park visits around these popular events, and hotel occupancy can be high during these times.
Thank you for reading this post from our Disneyland 101 Glossary: where we offer quick definitions of Disney terms, so you can get back to the fun.
Note the runDisney races at Disneyland will not be taking place for much of 2026. At the time of writing, the only runDisney scheduled for Disneyland is the Half Marathon Weekend, January 29 – February 1, 2026. From the runDisney website:
“Due to upcoming construction impacts, runDisney races at the Disneyland® Resort will be placed on hiatus in 2026 after the conclusion of the 2026 Disneyland® Half Marathon Weekend presented by HONDA. We will continue to offer races at Walt Disney World® Resort, as well as virtual offerings.”
