The original Disney California Adventure Park included a land called Paradise Pier, which was themed to California beachside amusement parks like the Santa Monica Pier or Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. This land surrounded the park’s central body of water and featured retro-themed amusement rides and nostalgic seaside eateries and shops reached via boardwalks and piers. In 2018, this land was split into Paradise Gardens Park and Pixar Pier: both continue to reflect this original theme and you may hear other guests use these names interchangeably.
