New Orleans Square is the area of Disneyland Park themed to the US city of New Orleans, Louisiana (particularly the French Quarter.) You can expect to see lots of charming details perched on wrought iron balconies and hopefully hear some live music. The major attractions found in this land are Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean. The latter also features the Blue Bayou, a table service restaurant inside the attraction. Other themed eateries and shops are tucked back in the winding streets. New Orleans Square is west of Adventureland and south of the Rivers of America.

Where is New Orleans Square located in Disneyland Resort?

New Orleans Square is a land in Disneyland Park in Disneyland Resort. It is west of Adventureland and south of the Rivers of America. You can reach it by traveling through Bayou Country from the north or Adventureland from the east. New Orleans Square also has its own stop on the Disneyland Railroad, so you can ride into New Orleans Square on the train. The station before New Orleans Square is the Main Street U.S.A. station.

What can I ride in New Orleans Square?

New Orleans Square is home to some of the most iconic Disney rides. You can ride Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion in New Orleans Square. Plus, the Disneyland Railroad travels through New Orleans Square and you can board it at the New Orleans Square Station.

What else can I do in New Orleans Square?

New Orleans Square is a great spot to find line entertainment at Disneyland Park. Check the Disneyland app for a schedule or just wander the twisty pathways of New Orleans Square and keep your ears open. The most common group are find here are an ensemble called Jambalaya Jazz and a pirate band (band of pirates?) called The Bootstrappers.

As far as characters go, Princess Tiana and Captain Jack Sparrow are the most common ones to find in New Orleans Square. Again, check the Disneyland app for scheduled meeting times.

Finally, Disneyland Park’s version of Fantasmic! plays out on the Rivers of America, and the most direct view of this nighttime spectacular is in New Orleans Square at the waters edge. Once again, check the Disneyland app or website for a schedule.

Can I find something good to eat in New Orleans Square?

Yes! Some of our favorite dining spots in all of Disneyland Resort are in New Orleans Square! There is a high concentration of great options for food in New Orleans Square.

Blue Bayou Restaurant is a restaurant inside a ride! You are seated inside Pirates of the Caribbean on what appears to be a waterside patio. Blue Bayou’s food is inspired by Creole and Cajun flavors, and this is one of the locations inside Disneyland Park where guests 21 and over can order alcohol.

Blue Bayou is a table service restaurant, and it can also be a hard reservations to get. Fortunately, New Orleans Square has another table service restaurant in Cafe Orleans, which has similar fare, but served in a more casual setting. Cafe Orleans also now offers alcoholic beverages.

For quick service restaurants, New Orleans Square has the newly reimagined Tiana’s Palace serving “Southern comfort dishes,” and the adjoining Mint Julep bar, which is a quick service window focused on beignets and beverages. Also in the category of quick service restaurants, Harbor Galley focuses on seafood and (very popular) cookies while Royal Street Veranda is a nice place for soups, salads and sandwiches. These quick service restaurants offer mobile ordering.

New Orleans Square really has an abundance of food options for a small land, and there are even snack carts in addition to all these restaurants. Look for the carts near Haunted Mansion.

Are there any height restrictions or age requirements for visiting New Orleans Square?

None of the attractions in New Orleans Square have height requirements. Some young children love the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean while others find them frightening. Two New Orleans Square restaurants serve alcohol. You must be 21 years of age or older to purchase alcohol here.

Do I need a ticket to visit New Orleans Square?

New Orleans Square is part of Disneyland Park. You will need valid admission to Disneyland Park in order to visit New Orleans Square, but you do not need a ticket separate from your park admission.

Does New Orleans Square have secret restaurants?

Club 33 is a private membership club with an exclusive dining location in New Orleans Square. 21 Royal is a private luxury dining room—also in New Orleans Square—that can be reserved for parties of up to 12. Both are dizzyingly expensive, but neither should impact a regular visit to New Orleans Square.

Can I stay overnight in New Orleans Square?

New Orleans Square was once home to the Disneyland Dream Suite. Nights in this unique suite were awarded to a very select few guest as a prizes. It occupied a space that had been set aside as the location of a second apartment for use by the Disney family. (The original is still over the fire station on Main Street U.S.A.) The apartment project was scrapped after the death of Walt Disney.

Today, that space is a private dining room called 21 Royal.
