Must I Use My Disneyland Ticket on Consecutive Days?

FAQ with Mouse Brief: Do I need to use my multi-day Disneyland Resort ticket on consecutive days? Can I “skip” a day on my Disneyland Resort ticket? Do I need to use all of my Disneyland ticket days in a row?

Hopefully you have had a chance to review your options for purchasing a ticket to Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park or both. If not, we highly recommend our guide here: Disneyland Ticket Guide with Decision Flowchart.

Multi-day (2-5 day) tickets are typically cheaper per-day than a series of one day tickets. But, many guests want to know the rules for multi-day tickets to the parks of Disneyland Resort. For example, do you need to use all of those ticket days at once? Can you take a day-off while using your Disneyland ticket? Can guests share a ticket? Keep reading for answers to these questions.

You Do Not Need to Use the Days on a Disneyland Ticket on Consecutive Days (But You Can)

You do not need to use all of the days on a multi-day Disneyland Resort ticket in a row. (In fact, we advise that you do not.) There is no rule that says you must use your Disneyland ticket on consecutive days.

For a standard multi-day ticket, you DO need to use all of the days within fourteen days. Any remaining days on your multi-day ticket will expire thirteen days after the first day you used it.

For multi day tickets purchased as part of a special offer, you may have even longer to use all of the days. For example, in summer 2024, there was a ticket offer for a discounted three day ticket. Those three days could be used anytime between June 10 and September 26. They did not need to be used within a two week window, but they did need to be used by September 26, 2024. Some tickets that were part of the offer could only be used on Mondays through Thursdays.

In any case, be sure to check the terms and conditions on any Disneyland Resort ticket you buy. Again, the standard multi-day ticket currently allows you to use the days within thirteen days of your first use. Special offer tickets may have different rules.

You Do Need to Make Park Reservations for Each Day You Visit

No matter which days you decide to use your ticket, you will need to have a park reservation. You must have an individual park reservation for each day you intended to visit either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park. Reservations do sometimes run out.

You will need to have a reservation for the particular park you intend to visit first. If you have a Park Hopper and want to visit the other park after 11:00am, you do not need to make another reservation.

You Cannot Use Multiple Days of the Same Ticket On One Day

If you want to visit both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park on the same day, you must purchase a Park Hopper add-on for your ticket. You cannot use two days from your multi-day ticket on the same day. You can visit different parks on different days.

All Days on a Disneyland Ticket Must Be Used By the Same Person

The first time you enter one of the parks of Disneyland Resort with your ticket, a cast member will take your photo. This photo will be linked to the ticket you are using. Every time you use that ticket to enter a park, the cast member at the turnstiles will check that you are the same person who first used the ticket. Multiple people cannot use the same ticket, even if it has multiple days.
