Good Neighbor Hotels is a category of hotels near the Disneyland Resort. These hotels are not owned or operated by Disney, and they are not located on Disneyland Resort property (though some are directly across the street). They have entered a partnership with Disney that allows them to be listed on the Disneyland website and to offer guests vacation packages that include park tickets.

Does Disney run the Good Neighbor Hotels near Disneyland?
No. Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotels are not owned or operated by the Walt Disney Company. You should not expect to see Disney cast members at these hotels. Some may have Disney decor touches, but these are just decorations in the same way that you might have Disney photos in your own home.
The only hotels near Disneyland owned and operated by the Walt Disney Company are the three Disneyland Resort Hotels. They are Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa and Pixar Place Hotel. These Disneyland Resort Hotels are also the only hotels actually on Disney property. All other hotels are off-property or third-party hotels, but some of them are awfully close to Disneyland.
If I stay at a Good Neighbor Hotel can I get into the Disneyland Resort parks early or stay late?
At the time of writing, no hotels near Disneyland Resort offer the opportunity to spend extra time in the parks. In the past, Disney offered this kind of perk to guests of the Disneyland Resort Hotels, and before that, some Good Neighbor Hotel guests even received extra hours! But as of early 2026, no guests of any hotels get the benefit of extra park time at the Disneyland Resort parks.
Of course, this could change once again, but for now you will need to explore different options if you want to spend extra time in the Disneyland Resort parks. Do I get any extra benefits for staying at a Disneyland Resort Good Neighbor Hotel?
Honestly… not any that we would count as notable. Having Good Neighbor Hotel designation does allow these hotels to sell vacation packages that include tickets.
On the Disneyland website, Disney says that Good Neighbor Hotels are “Disney-approved hotels close to the Disneyland Resort offering room and theme park ticket packages.”
That’s pretty vague language. Some of the hotels are right across the street, while others are over a mile away from Disneyland Resort. And while we have stayed at Good Neighbor Hotels and noticed they can sell vacation packages, we have never purchased a ticket package through them. Instead, we seek deals through places like Costco or other reputable third-party sellers and save money doing so. All of this is to say, we do not put much stock in the Good Neighbor Hotel designation at this time. While Disney does share criteria for being a “Disney-approved” hotel on its Walt Disney World website, it does not do the same for Disneyland Resort. So we cannot point to any particular standards for comfort, cleanliness, service or value at Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotels.
Disneyland Resort vacation packages also do include “Magical Extra,” which currently amount to a 10% discount at some Downtown Disney District locations plus a lanyard and pin for people on your reservation. Disneyland Resort does not publish an updated list of locations participating in the 10% discount, so that is hard to plan around.
That said, the list of Good Neighbor Hotels is a starting point for finding third-party hotels near Disneyland Resort, and you can find them listed on the Disneyland Resort website here. But we do recommend that you avoid eliminating a hotel from consideration just because it is not on the list.
So what are the criteria for being a Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel?
Again, this is not at all clear. We could not find any information about Good Neighbor Hotels standards on the Disneyland website itself aside from calling these hotels “quality accommodations that are located near the Disneyland Resort,” and “Disney-approved hotels close to the Disneyland Resort offering room and theme park ticket packages.”
