Yes, There’s Snow at Disneyland..Sort Of

December temperatures in Anaheim usually hang-out between the mid-40s and high-60s. So, it is highly unlikely that you will experience a natural snowfall during your holiday visit (though we still recommend preparing for the cold).

Instead, Disney uses some of their special magic to manufacture snow during Holiday Time at Disneyland Resort. The Disney “snow” does actually feel quite magical to us. When you experience it against the backdrop of the beautifully decorated Disneyland Resort, you might feel that way too.

Snow in Disneyland Park

Disneyland Park creates its own snowfall around Sleeping Beauty Castle each evening during “Wintertime Enchantments at Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle.”

But, the biggest snowfall happens later during “Believe… In Holiday Magic.” During this holiday nighttime spectacular, snow falls around “it’s a small world” Holiday, along the Rivers of America, and on parts of Main Street U.S.A.

Check the entertainment guide to find out what time each of these shows will be happening during your visit to Disneyland Park.

”Free” Snow in the Downtown Disney District

You can even experience the magic Disney snow flurries without a ticket if you visit the Downtown Disney LIVE Stage between 6 and 10pm on evenings beginning November 29 through January 6, 2024.

Holiday Time is one of the best times to enjoy Disneyland Resort without a ticket, because of the great decor in the Downtown Disney District and at the Disneyland Resort Hotels.

We hope you have found this post helpful. Remember, in addition to the dynamic snowfalls at Disneyland Park and Downtown Disney District, you can also find other icy decor around the parks for the holidays. The highlight is probably Sleeping Beauty Castle, which transforms for the holidays with glittery snow and icicles.

Of course, the monstrous Matterhorn always has a bit of snow, no matter the season.
