Disneyland Holiday and Festival Seasons Schedule in 2025

It is a great idea to visit Disneyland Resort during special festivals and holiday celebrations, because you get enhanced decor, entertainment, food and merchandise for the price of regular admission. Some time periods during these celebrations bring larger crowds and higher hotel prices, but not all of them! In fact, some of these festivals are designed to bring in guests during traditionally slow periods. Keep reading for dates and our best tips for your visit.

Disneyland Resort’s 70th Anniversary Celebration Schedule for 2025 and Beyond

May 16 through Summer 2026, Resort Wide

Disneyland opened on July 17, 1955, and the whole resort is ready to join in the celebration of seventy happy years, starting on May 16, 2025.

At Disneyland Park, Sleeping Beauty Castle will be decked-out in her anniversary finest, as will Mickey, Minnie and their pals. Disneyland Park will also bring back the super popular “Paint the Night” parade and “Wondrous Journeys” nighttime spectacular and fireworks show. Evenings at Disneyland Park should be exciting and gorgeous during the 70th celebration.

Disney California Adventure Park will celebrate with the brand new “World of Color Happiness” nighttime spectacular and a nightly “special moment” with projections and music on Carthay Circle Restaurant. Plus, daytime entertainment includes the return of the parade “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!”

Disneyland will also debut resort-wide 70th anniversary decor plus limited-time food, merchandise and extra entertainment.

The 70th anniversary celebration is scheduled to last for over a year! This should be plenty of time to find the right dates for your visit. Do take note that some of the special 70th entertainment will pause for Halloween Time and Holiday Time at Disneyland Resort, so take that into consideration.

Lunar New Year

January 17 to February 16 at Disney California Adventure Park

Lunar New Year is an annual celebration at Disney California Adventure Park inspired by Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean traditions. In 2025, it is happening from January 17 to February 16.

You can experience “Hurry Home – A Lunar New Year Celebration” before World of Color as well as “Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession” on certain days. Disney California Adventure Park will also have special musical performances and Asian-inspired dishes at six marketplaces just for the festival. In 2025, Mickey and Minnie will have new outfits reflecting traditional Korean attire.

This is a nice time to visit if you are looking for lower crowds but enhanced offerings and a beautiful multicultural celebration. Keep in the mind that holiday weekends and the Disneyland Half Marathon weekend (January 30 to February 2, 2025) do get busy.

Celebrate Gospel

February 8 and 15 at Disneyland Park

Community choirs and acclaimed artists will perform at Disneyland Park on February 8 and February 15.

Disneyland Resort is also highlighting Black heritage and culture during the month of February with special food, music, art and character moments.

Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival

February 28 to April 21 at Disney California Adventure Park

Disney California Adventure Park celebrates its home state and namesake in a special way from February 28 through April 21, 2025. The Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival features ten marketplaces with limited-time food and beverages. You can also attend culinary experiences (usually for an extra fee) and event entertainment.

The Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival also sees the return of the California version of the Soarin’ attraction: Soarin’ Over California. We may be biased, but we personally prefer this original iteration of the attraction, and we think it is worth a ride.

This festival spans both calm and busy weeks at Disneyland Resort: Spring Break weeks from mid March through Easter Week should be the busiest.

Star Wars Season of the Force

March 28 to May 11 at Disneyland Park

Disneyland Park is celebrating all things Star Wars from March 28 to May 11. There will be enhanced nightly performances of “Fire of the Rising Moons” over Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Over in Tomorrowland, Space Mountain will transform into the Star Wars themed Hyperspace Mountain.

On select nights during Star Wars Season of the Force, there will also be Disneyland After Dark special events (see below). These require a separate event ticket.

Halloween Time

August 22 to October 31, Resort Wide

The entire Disneyland Resort is enhanced with seasonal decor, entertainment, dining and character costumes during Halloween Time, which Disneyland Resort celebrates from August 22 through October 31 in 2025.

Some attractions even “dress up” for the holiday: Haunted Mansion Holiday, Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree, Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween and Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark. These are Halloween versions of four popular attractions and a fun change for the season.

Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort has dramatically increased in popularity. Earlier tends to be better if you are looking for low crowds during Halloween Time. October has become a busy time, and keep in mind that Disney California Adventure Park will close early on days when it is hosting Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party. (Keep reading for dates for Oogie Boogie Bash.)

Plaza de la Familia, A Celebration with Coco

August 22 to November 2, Disney California Adventure Park

Disney California Adventure Park celebrates family and Día de los Muertos from August 22 to November 2. The offerings center around Paradise Gardens Park with special entertainment and interactive crafts featuring the Pixar film Coco. You are invited to add a note to the Memory Wall and celebrate your own family connections at Plaza de la Familia.

At Disneyland Park, there is also a tribute to Día de los Muertos in Frontierland.

“The Holidays Begin Here,” Winter Holidays Schedule at Disneyland Resort for 2025-2026

November 14 to January 7

Disneyland Resort goes all out for the winter holidays. You can expect unique and glittering decor, special character costumes, limited-time dining options and holiday entertainment big and small from November 14, 2024 through January 7, 2025. There’s even snow!

Several attractions also transform for the holidays, so you can visit during this time to ride “it’s a small world” Holiday, Haunted Mansion Holiday, Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl and Mater’s Jingle Jamboree. The facade for “it’s a small world” Holiday is really something special.

This is a fun and beautiful season at Disneyland Resort. The time around Christmas and New Year, when many schools are on break, usually sees very high crowds as does Thanksgiving week and the time around Veterans Day. The good news is that the season is long, so guests looking for lower crowds should be able to find some pockets of calm too.

Disney Festival of Holidays

November 14 to January 7 at Disney California Adventure Park

Over at Disney California Adventure Park, holidays from around the world are celebrated with festive marketplaces and limited-time entertainment.

Every part of Disneyland Resort really gets into the festive season from November 14 to January 7. Unlike Halloween time, there is no big after hours event during this season, so you really get a lot for your general admission!

Disneyland After Hours Events Schedule in 2025

Disneyland Resort after hours events are special parties that happen after the parks close. They usually have entertainment and food specific to the event, rare character interactions and shorter wait times for select attractions.

These events require a separate ticket from general admission. Even if you are not attending these events, you should make note of the dates. The park hosting the party will close early to general guests, and you will need to leave unless you also hold a ticket for the event that night. The park not holding the event also tends to be busier on party evenings, as general admission guests leaving the party park will head to the other park.

Tickets for these events tend to be popular and usually sell-out before the day of the event (and even on the day they go on sale, in the case of Oogie Boogie Bash).

Disneyland After Dark at Disneyland Park

Disneyland After Dark events are themed parties that take place at Disneyland Park. These parties are typically scheduled from 9pm to 1am. Party guests are able to arrive as early as 6pm and enter the park with just their party ticket. General admission guests visiting Disneyland on party days will have the park closed to them at 9pm.

Here are the themes and dates for Disneyland After Dark events in 2025:

Sweethearts’ Nite: January 21, 23, 28 and February 4, 6, 9, 11, 13

A tribute to love with character couples, a cavalcade and Royal Ball. Ticket presales for select Magic Key holders start on December 10, 2024, continue on December 11 for all Magic Key holders and open to everyone on December 12.

90s Nite: March 4 and 6

Celebrate 1990s pop culture the Disney way. Ticket presales for select Magic Key holders start on December 10, 2024, continue on December 11 for all Magic Key holders and open to everyone on December 12.

Star Wars Nite: April 8, 10, 22, 24, 29 and May 1, 4, 6

On these select nights during Star Wars Season of the Force, there will be after hours events with special character appearances and photo worthy gatherings. Ticket sale details will be announced later.

Pride Nite: June 16 and 18

Pride Nites are after hours celebrations of the LGBTQIA+ community with rainbow decor and special entertainment. Ticket sale details will be announced later.

Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party

for 31 nights at Disney California Adventure Park on August 17, 19, 21, 24, 26, 28, 31; September 2, 9, 11, 14, 16, 18, 21, 23, 25, 28, 30 and October 2, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, 23, 26, 28, 31

Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party is an incredibly popular after hours events at Disney California Adventure Park. This “frightfully fun” party has unique entertainment, fan favorite character sightings and trick-or-treat trails for guests. This is also the rare opportunity for adults visiting the Disney parks to dress in full costume (with some exceptions).

On nights of Oogie Boogie Bash parties, Disney California Adventure Park closes to general admissions guests at 6pm. Party guests can begin arriving at the park at 3pm and enter with just their party ticket.

Sale dates have not yet been announced for Oogie Boogie Bash, but if you are interested, be sure to keep an eye out, and subscribe below for updates. These tickets do sell-out quickly.
