Are you planning a trip to Disneyland Resort? We are thrilled for you! One of the highlights of a Disney trip is telling your kids or loved ones about it. We love sharing easy but fanciful ideas for how to reveal your Disney trip to your fellow travelers. We first did it in 12 Creative Ways to Gift a Disney Trip, and today we are sharing five Disney surprise trip reveal ideas, this time with a spring break theme.

Grow a Disney Trip
Spring is a time for new growth: what if you planted the seeds for a Disney trip?
For this Disney trip reveal, start by planting some actual seeds with your family. Plant them outside or start them indoors in pots. As you water the seeds, talk about what you think might grow from them. Then, while your gardeners are asleep, stake some signs into the soil that say you are going on a Disney trip. When your little landscapers wake-up, they will be amazed to discover what grew from their seeds: a surprise Disney vacation!
You can use little blank signs you can write on like these or create your own with cardboard and popsicle sticks. Working on a garden patch?Just for fun, you could also add these adorable garden ornaments with Mickey and Minnie around a campfire.
Frozen (Spring) Fever
This idea is a repeat from our original 12 Creative Ways to Gift a Disney Trip list, but it fits today’s theme so well, that we want to revisit it. Plus, it happens to be one of our favorite ways to “wrap” gifts. (We promise this is the only repeat.)
In the short film “Frozen Fever,” Elsa sends her sister Anna on a kind of treasure hunt to collect a series of birthday presents. Elsa hands Anna the end of a piece of string and invites her to follow it. As Anna follows the string, she discovers that it winds all around the sisters’ home and that gifts are attached to the string. For example, the string goes through the helmet of a suit of armor. Anna opens the helmet and finds a new bracelet hidden inside.
We have a couple of Frozen fans in the house who loved when we recreated this scene for a recent family birthday. You can do the same and place your Disney trip reveal at the end! First, find a spool of string or ball of yarn. Tie a note about your trip to one end. If you prefer, you could attach something kind of symbol instead (a luggage tag, a Magic Band+, a balloon, etc). Hide that note or object somewhere in your home and start unspooling the string to create a trail. We like making the route kind of silly: making it go under a table, over a footstool and then around a chair three times.
To prepare for the big reveal, you may want to watch “Frozen Fever,” (you can find it on Disney+). Now, hand your recipients the empty end of the string and send them on their way to the big surprise: a Disney trip!
Write the (Adventure) Book
If you love the movie Up (like we do), you could present your crew with their very own “Adventure Book.” Just write a little note inside about your upcoming trip. After the trip, you can use the book as a place to paste photos, maps, stickers or other mementos from your trip. We found lots of options for Adventure Books online. Here is an example of one.
Alternatively, you can use any autograph book, scrapbook or photo frame that strikes your fancy. Just place a note inside before your trip and fill it with memories afterwards!
Hatch a Surprise
We love marshmallow chicks and jellybeans, but do you know what we would be even more excited to find in our Easter eggs? A surprise Disney trip!
For this surprise Disney trip reveal, spell out “We are going to Disneyland!” on small pieces of cardstock with one word or a few letters on each piece. Place the pieces in individual eggs. When your little chicks collect and empty their eggs, challenge them to unscramble the puzzle to get the surprise message. (You can number the pieces if they need a little help.) The eggs will “hatch” an incredible surprise Disney trip! You can even add some sweet Disney plush like this one or this one to everyone’s baskets to add some extra fun.
Super Bowl Fun & March Madness
“I’m going to Disney World!” Did you smile when Jalen Hurts exclaimed those well-known words last week? If you have some sports fans in your family, set them up for their own MVP moment.
Prepare an envelope with a slip of paper inside that says “I’m going to Disneyland!” After your little athlete finishes a sporting event, hand them the envelope and ask them to read aloud what they find inside. Now let the party begin!
If you want to make the surprise work for all of your kids together, stage a little family game (anything from flag football to charades will do). Make the teams kids against adults, and give the kid team the envelope at the end. You could even keep the envelope for a surprise reveal at the end of a March Madness bracket challenge. We know you will find a the right variation on our suggestions for your home team!
