One Day Ticket for Disneyland Resort, FAQs

What can I do with a one day ticket for Disneyland Resort?

A one day ticket for Disneyland Resort allows you to enter either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park over the course of regular operating hours for one day. You may exit and re-enter the park throughout operating hours as long as the park has not reached capacity.

If you want to visit both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park on the same day, you can do this with a one day ticket as long as you add the Park Hopper option. Without the Park Hopper option, you can visit just one of the two parks of Disneyland Resort.

Once inside the park, you have access to attractions and entertainment with your admission. Most rides, shows, parades and other entertainment offerings are included with the price of your ticket. There are a very few exceptions to this, like the lightsaber and droid building experiences in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. You can also purchase food and merchandise inside the park, but this is not included with admission.

Do I need a park reservation?

Yes. At the time of writing all guests need a park reservation to enter Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park on any given day. You can read all about park reservations here: Guide to Park Reservations for Disneyland & Why You Need Them. A park reservation is for the park where you plan to start your day.

When you buy a one day ticket to Disneyland Resort, you will be prompted to make a park reservation at the time of purchase. This is significant, because one day tickets at Disneyland Resort are priced based on the date of your visit. Your final ticket price will depend on the date you choose and reserve.

What should I do if I want to change the date of my visit?

It is possible to change the date of your park reservation when using a one day ticket for Disneyland Resort, but it gets a little complicated because of the date-based pricing.

What follows is a quick explanation of how that works, but if you need help changing your ticket date now, we recommend going over to our Quick Guide to Ticket Tiers at Disneyland Resort which includes a section on how to change the date for your one day ticket. Here is a brief overview…

Every one day ticket you buy for Disneyland Resort is assigned to a certain price tier. Higher tiers cost more money. If you want to change the date of your visit, you can do so. If you choose another date with the same tier as your original date and within your ticket’s expiration time frame, you should be able to switch the dates without paying anything extra. You can also choose a date with a lower tier, but you will not be reimbursed for the difference in price. If you choose to switch to a date with a higher assigned tier, you will need to pay the difference in price. And, keep in mind that there must be park reservations available anytime you switch dates.

That’s the (relatively) quick version of changing dates for a one day ticket.
