Last week, we shared 5 Super Easy and Comfortable Disney Halloween Costumes good for Oogie Boogie Bash at Disneyland and Mickey’s-Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World or trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. Today, we are sharing five more Disney and Pixar costumes that can be assembled from everyday clothing items (with the possible addition of some easy accessories.)
We like these costumes, because they are easy to assemble and comfortable. When your costume is mostly defined by a soft and breathable t-shirt, you do not need to worry about too-hot cheap costumes or something you cannot sit while wearing. That is why we like these Disney everyday clothing costumes and think they are great for meeting characters at Disney parks or in your own neighborhood.
Easy Disney High School Musical Costume
Love the aughts and Disney Channel’s High School Musical? You can make a super simple and nostalgic costume to bring out your inner-Gabriella, Troy, Chad, Sharpay and the rest of the Wildcats crew. Pull together an easy High School Musical costume by just donning a tee like this from East High. Then, pair it with a red track suit, some vintage 2000s bootcut jeans or whatever appeals to you, and: “GO Wildcats!”
Would you rather make your own Wildcats High School Musical t-shirt? Cricut actually has some licensed East High Wildcats logos for sale in their in-app store. Get a nice red shirt like this one and add your favorite logo using a Cricut machine, iron-vinyl and a heat press for a DIY High School Musical costume.
Super Simple Pixar The Incredibles Costume
There are now two Incredibles films from Disney and Pixar, and we love them both. We also love that they are fodder for super simple Disney Pixar costumes. The Incredibles logo is instantly recognizable, and that makes for an easy t-shirt costume. It works extra well because the Incredibles family members wear their logos on their own chests when they are in their super suits.
There are several choices for ready-to-wear Incredibles tees. Once again, you could also create your own costume t-shirt with a Cricut machine, iron-on vinyl and heat press. The Incredibles logo is also for sale as a cut-file in the Cricut store integrated into the Cricut app.
If you want to embellish your Incredibles costume just a bit, you have a few easy options. You could add a black superhero mask like this one (this will totally conceal your identity… as long as a you live in Pixar world). Violet wears a headband to keep her hair off of her face, so you can add a headband like this to your costume. Helen (aka Elastigirl) has a distinctive flip to her hair, while Dash has a kind of windblown look and Bob wears his hair slicked back. If you are trying to emulate Jack-Jack’s look, you will want to try to gel your hair up into a little peak (and maybe carry around a jar of cookie num-nums).
Easy Pixar Toy Story Aliens Costume
These “little green men” in Toy Story made a memorable impression from the moment they tell Buzz about “the claw.” Their look is so distinctive that you can make a recognizable Pixar Toy Story aliens costume with just a t-shirt and headband. Plus, the sheer number of aliens in Toy Story and the ease of pulling together this ensemble means these little green men costume would make a fun and easy group Disney costume.
Start with just a simple blue t-shirt or go for this one printed to look just like the ones on the little green guys. Then, top-off your Toy Story alien costume with this headband or even just by painting some green-rimmed eyes on your forehead. Then practice your Toy Story aliens voice: “Ooooooohhh!”
Comfortable Disney Wreck-It Ralph Costume
Wreck-It Ralph and Ralph Breaks the Internet are two Disney movies we like to revisit agin and again. And anyone who has played blocks with toddlers (or watched them “reorganize” an area you have just cleaned) might see some similarities between little ones and Mr. “Wreck-It” himself. In that spirit, you can put together a simple and comfortable Wreck-It Ralph costume for your little one with two pieces of clothing you may already own.
Just put your little wrecker in an orange henley tee like this one and pair of brown overalls like these ones for little kids. Then, really get into the spirit by making a block tower for them to smash. We really like this costume for little kids (we have used it in our own family), because it is made of everyday clothes that will not annoy tiny revelers.
Of course, you can also create an adult costume with bigger sizes of the same two items. For adults, we might also add a “hero” medal to the Wreck-It-Ralph costume, like this one.
Retro Disney Princess Diaries Costume
This last costume can get pretty involved, but it still uses everyday clothing. You can decide how many of the following pieces you want to make part of your outfit. Keep it simple or go for all of the pieces we suggest for a Crown Princess Amelia Mignonette Thermopolis Renaldi costume from Disney’s Princess Diaries.
This particular costume reflects Mia when we meet her early in Princess Diaries, so you can start with a pair of her comfy Dr. Martins paired with knee-high socks (or kid sizes here).
Then add a blue plaid skirt. This blue plaid looks an awful lot like Mia’s, but it only comes in kids sizes. Here is a blue plaid skirt in adult sizes.
Next, grab a button-up shirt or even a polo from your closet and you add a navy tie around the neck. To really bring the look home, search your closets or local thrift store for a navy blazer with brass buttons.
For a cheeky (though not movie-accurate touch) you can finish this Princess Diaries costume with a tiara. And, you decide whether you want to style your hair to match Mia’s pre or post-Paolo hairdo.
Thank you for reading these suggestions for five Disney and Pixar costumes you can make with everyday clothing.
